The Whiskey House launches at HKIA
Hundreds of premium international whiskeys are being offered at The Whiskey House, which has opened at DFS, Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
As well as whiskey experiences, travellers are offered shopping rewards and discounts at the outlet, a concept created by DFS in partnership with Scottish distillery William Grant & Sons.
“The Whiskey House is inspired by our customers and their love of discover,” says DFS Group senior VP (spirits, wine, tobacco, food and gifts) Brooke Supernaw.
Featured are more than 250 distinct whiskeys from 50 international brands, with complimentary samplings of more than 40 whiskeys available each day. The Whiskey House will also have regular events such as blind tasting sessions, the chance to meet whiskey experts and to join their exclusive tasting sessions every weekend.
Prizes can be won through social-media games and activities.
DFS staff have also had special training, with the skills being developed and refined through studies with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust as well as The Whisky Ambassador, the UK’s only accredited training course focussed solely on whiskey.
In the lead-up to the outlet’s opening, 10 new whiskeys were launched exclusively with DFS in November, with more first-arrival bottles coming this year. Travel-retail exclusives available to The Whiskey House shoppers include more than 70 whiskey varieties and three rare single-malt whiskeys.
