HKRI Taikoo Hui shopping complex opens
HKRI Taikoo Hui, the final major development in Shanghai’s Puxi CBD, has opened its shopping complex.
On Nanjing Road West, the mixed-use project also includes two office towers, two hotels and a serviced-apartment building. It is a JV between Hong Kong companies Swire Properties and HKR International.
Already, 90 per cent of the retail space at HKRI Taikoo Hui has been leased, with the shopping complex offering about 250 fashion, lifestyle, beauty and accessories brands, as well as 45 eateries. The mall also includes 10 event spaces.
“HKRI Taikoo Hui blends commercial and green spaces to create a truly urban oasis,” says HKR International deputy-chairman/MD Cha Mou Zing Victor.
Several retail and F&B brands are making their debut or launching concept stores at HKRI Taikoo Hui. Highlights include a rare art installation at the Swarovski flagship store, Asia’s first Starbucks Roastery and Reserve Tasting Room, covering 2700 sqm, and Space Cycle, a yoga and spinning studio from Taiwan.
Dining outlets include Little Nanyang, Grandma’s Home – Time Travel, the brand’s first fine-dining restaurant, and the 4000 sqm City’super concept store which offers cooking lessons plus international foods.
International fashion brands include Adidas, BaoBao Issey Miyake, CK Performance, Lululemon, Max&Co, Nike, Sandro Men and Ted Baker, while more than 20 standalone beauty offering include Caudalie, Kiehl’s and Shu Uemura products.
The vast S-shaped atrium at the mall features natural light via its glass roof.
A mix of domestic, regional and international corporations will occupy the office towers including several Fortune 500 companies.
HKRI Taikoo Hui covers about 63,000 sqm with a gross floor area of about 322,000 sqm. It has more than 1200 parking spaces and has direct Metro access.
In partnership with The Walt Disney Company (China), the complex is the sole host of the “Force Everywhere” Star Wars themed exhibition in Mainland China, which runs until June 18. It features an X-wing starfighter, life-size Stormtroopers and a Hot Toys Millennium Falcon cockpit model, as well as an interactive VR area. Different elements of the exhibition can be found throughout the mall.
