Concept cafes planned as Ginza West spin-off

Japanese bakery Ginza West co-owner Baniel Cheung Tin-sau is planning a chain of concept cafes serving Japanese coffee.

Cheung plans to offer a cafe with a spacious set-up, drawing his inspiration from Apple Stores. The coffee will come from a joint venture formed by Japanese rivals Pokka and UCC Ueshima.

He says he is finding high rents an obstacle, just as he did when introducing Ginza West in Wan Chai two years ago. You can read the full story here on the South China Morning Post.

He is considering opening the shops in traditional business districts such as Central, as well as in Kowloon East.
