Valentino China launching 3D virtual store

E-commerce giant Alibaba and Valentino China have teamed up to launch a 3D virtual store on Tmall Luxury Pavilion.

The virtual store will mirror a physical Valentino pop-up being hosted from Friday in Beijing’s Sanlitun district. The experience aims to integrate the online and offline experience to create a luxury destination promoting the fashion brand’s Garavani Candystud collection.

Tmall fashion and luxury president Jessica Liu says the simultaneous outlets show how luxury brands can use Alibaba to engage consumers and take advantage of the New Retail opportunity.

To mark the initiative, Maison Valentino is launching two limited-edition Valentino Garavani Candystud bags, four exclusive styles of sneaker and a collection of small leather goods. Customers can pre-order goods online before the pop-up opens.
