Foot Locker Hong Kong opens first store, at Kowloon
Foot Locker Hong Kong opened its first store Thursday, a three-story flagship in Kowloon.
“As home to one of the most vibrant sneaker cultures in the world, Hong Kong is a natural fit for Foot Locker to showcase our latest retail concept,” said Lew Kimble EVP & CEO Foot Locker International.
“With the new Tsim Sha Tsui store, we set out to design a space that celebrates the city’s creative community and inspires Hong Kong sneaker enthusiasts.”
The first Foot Locker Hong Kong store delivers an engaging retail experience, combining premium product and elevated in-store presentations, as well as experiential retail features and events.
A House of Hoops concept shop celebrates basketball culture and offering a premium selection of sneakers and apparel from Nike and Jordan. Customers can also expect product storytelling from both Adidas and Puma.
The store boasts the broadest selection of Nike Air Max Plus available in Hong Kong.
Inspired by the city and its integral role in sneaker culture, the store features a specially commissioned mural by the queen of Hong Kong’s street art scene and former winner of Hong Kong’s Secret Walls competition, Bao Ho.
The company says the collaboration with a local creative sets the tone for how Foot Locker will regularly tailor the store to the local community.
At an exclusive pre-opening preview last night, former TV actress and now one of Hong Kong’s most in-demand DJs, Miss Yellow, performed alongside Chinese-born rapper Bohan Phoenix.
Attendees experienced hair trims and styling courtesy of Black Rose Barbershop and enjoyed Xbox One X consoles and games in a dedicated Xbox Experience Zone. The Zone will be part of the new store for three months, with gamers and customers invited to test their skills on the console.
The dedicated barbershop will offer trims for up to two weeks after the official store opening.
