Gift Hampers HK does away with wasteful wrapping

Christmas basket retailer Gift Hampers HK is introducing environmentally friendly hampers for the coming season, bringing sustainability to Christmas.

The firm is doing away with wasteful wrapping practices that are traditionally thrown away once opened. The move is being made against the context of global initiatives to reduce consumer reliance on single-use items.

Founder of Gift Hampers HK Justin Chung said gifting hampers can be environmentally friendly. “By adopting better environmental practices and focusing on sustainability, we can provide our customers with eco-friendly hampers without compromising on aesthetics, quality or price.”

This Christmas, Gift Hampers HK will introduce eco-alternative materials in response to industry moves away from plastic. The packaging will include 100 per cent natural biodegradable materials in its cellophane, sellotape and fillers.

According to the brand, 60 per cent of its corporate customers prefer sustainable hamper options.

The firm has operations in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
