Lifestyle and homewares retailer Artysans launches online
Ethical lifestyle and homewares retailer Artysans has opened an online store in Hong Kong.
Committed to empowering female makers and helping talented designers, Artysans sources sustainable products from a global network of producers, social enterprises and fair-trade groups.
Curated products include kitchen and bathroom products, jewellery, fashion and home decor items.
Standout pieces in the home decor category include Bolga baskets woven by hand in Ghana, coloured with traditional plant and mineral dyes and finished with a soft and supple foldable leather handle.
Kantha handmade bedspreads are produced by women rescued from human trafficking in Bangladesh while Hmong embroidered cushions are crafted by tribal women in Thailand.
Other products include Roha tea towels from Ethiopia, Kramas cotton scarf from Cambodia and leather clutches made in Bangladesh’s most remote, rural regions.
“We are delighted to launch in Hong Kong with a real treasure trove of products which we have carefully curated from some of the world’s most talented craftspeople,” said Chrystel Saillard, Artysans founder.
“We have made it our mission to source high quality products which acknowledge sustainability and the power of simplicity while empowering craftsmen to achieve financial independence, build their own businesses and send their children to school.”
