Second edition of Tumi recycled collection about to launch
High-end luggage brand Tumi has introduced a second range of bags made with recycled fibres.
This season’s Tumi recycled collection is exclusively available for the Asia-Pacific region from early next month.
The new collection features popular styles from Alpha Bravo made with post-industrial and post-consumer waste materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Exteriors are made with recycled nylon, while interior and exterior details are constructed from recycled plastic bottles.
“Sustainability resonates with all of us at Tumi,” said the brand’s creative director Victor Sanz, “and we were very pleased with the outstanding reception received by the first Recycled Capsule. This spring, we pushed forward with our exploration of recycled materials to create bags that delivered on Tumi’s signature quality and premium performance.
“This seasons’ Tumi recycled collection is the latest demonstration of how as a brand we continue to break boundaries and push industry limits to deliver innovative, stylish and performance-driven bags for global citizens.”
The original Tumi Recycled Collection launched in autumn last year was a breakthrough in engineering for the brand, marking the first time recycled materials met the Tumi’s testing standards. This season’s capsule builds on that achievement using 70 per cent recycled content without compromises on quality.
The new collection will be available exclusively in the Tumi Pacific Place store for two weeks from April 18 before appearing in all Tumi Hong Kong stores from early May.
