Rising Hong Kong designers debut at London Fashion Week
Non-profit organisation Design Renaissance Foundation (DRF) has introduced a collection of works by rising Hong Kong designers at London Fashion Week.
The Design Renaissance Foundation – On Show event was financed by the Professional Services Advancements Support Scheme of the Hong Kong government and supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office London (London ETO), to showcase the creative work of rising Hong Kong designers with 20 Hong Kong fashion brands.
“The government of Hong Kong is committed to supporting our creative talent and professional services sector to reach out to overseas markets,” said Priscilla To, director-general of the London ETO. “The $200 million Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme set up in 2016 is a case in point. It has already supported 38 projects, including Design Renaissance Foundation – On Show, to increase exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong’s professional services and external counterparts, and enhance the standards and external competitiveness of Hong Kong’s professional services,” she said.
The On Show event ran from September 12 until today, at Covent Garden.
Established in 2013, DRF has evolved into a platform to organise creative events such as catwalk shows, seminars, exhibitions and delegations. Its objective is to introduce rising Hong Kong designers and brands to the global market.
