IFC mall Christmas collaboration unveiled
Christmas will come early to Hong Kong´s IFC shopping mall as it collaborates with illustrator and designer Richard Johnson to set up a pop-up storybook installation.
Running from November 15 to January 1, 2020, the IFC mall Christmas storybook installation will create the tale of ‘The Night Before Christmas’. At the very front of the installation is a giant mechanic pop-up book telling the adventures of little Ben and his pet Monty as they journey through the fantasy Christmas village.
With different interactive zones, the IFC mall Christmas installation will also feature augmented-reality games and engaging photo opportunities including ‘Jingle Jangle Studio’, where visitors can create augmented reality story adventure and choose how to spend the night before Christmas.
Additional attractions will include a four-day, limited-run storytelling session in Cantonese and English in collaboration with Hong Kong actor and DJ Sammy Leung, and performance artist and emcee Desiree Ho. The sessions will take place at the installation and online pre-registration is required for attendance as spots are limited. And there will also be arts and craft workshops.
A performance called “A Merry Little Christmas Tale,” a narrative that follows Ben and consists of Christmas carols, a bubble-contortion act, ballerinas, beatboxing, an aerial show and a synchronised dance number will also await visitors, it says.
The mall, which houses more than 200 retail outlets, has also collaborated with Lane Crawford to reward shoppers who spend HK$9000 or more by electronic payment on the same day with a set of IFC Mall x Kruf Christmas limited holiday set (one thermal flask and one heat pouch in beige/pink). While club IC members will be rewarded up to HK$28,000 (around US$ 3,600) upon designated spending.
Gift redemption will begin on November 14 until December 26 or until stocks last at the IFC mall Christmas service counter.
